FOODS FOR YOUR KIDNEY:
Kidneys are one of the most important organs of the body. The main function of kidneys is to remove waste and fluids from your body. These bean-shaped organs about the size of a fist also create hormones that help to control blood pressure, strengthen bones and muscles, and in making red blood cells balance the minerals like salt and potassium this balance is important for the working of nerves, muscles, and tissues normally.

It is very important to take care of health and one should do that by eating healthy adopting a healthy lifestyle would help you in cutting off your medical bills.

And for healthy kidneys, we are going to discuss some foods that you should add to your diet and how they are useful for kidneys.

Nature has blessed us with so many fruits and vegetables that we should add to our diet if we want to keep our kidneys healthy and working properly for us.

BELL PEPPER:   

Bell peppers contain sodium, potassium, and phosphorus. They are less in potassium and high in fiber and this is not only the reason that they are good for your kidney health, these colorful bell peppers are also rich in Vitamin C Vitamin A, and Vitamin B6. Red bell peppers contain nutrients and antioxidants which may help to reduce the risk of cancers.

You can add them to your meal in many ways you can roast them and eat them with any dip, add them to salads or pasta, or use them as toppings for sandwiches. They also taste great when you put them on shashlik sticks.

CABBAGE:

Cabbage is a good source of Vitamin B6 and folic acids it also contains a compound known as phytochemical compounds these compounds break the free radicals before damage is done by free radicals. Also protects the cells from damage and is good for cardiovascular health. And you know what? Cabbage is an affordable addition to your diet because it is not only low in potassium but also low in cost. You can eat it raw, or add it to your tortillas, sandwiches, and salads.

 

CAULIFLOWER: 

Cauliflower is rich in Vitamin C and carries a good amount of folate and fiber. Cauliflower is also rich in chemical compounds that may help the liver to negate the toxins that could affect cells and DNA.

It is surely a healthy addition to your diet and good for your kidneys also. Steam it, boil it, roast it and sprinkle some herb spices on it or you can add it to your salads, boil it mash it eat it like mashed potatoes there are so many ways to eat them adopt any of them and enjoy the goodness of cauliflower.

Onions:

Besides making people cry onions carry a lot of nutrients that are good for your health. Onions contain antioxidants that may help against cancer and protection against heart diseases.

Onions are low in potassium and sodium and have no fat which is why they are also good for the kidneys. Rich in fiber and have folic acids.

Add onions in salads, make curry with them, on toppings of your burgers and tacos and if you have an air fryer make onion rings and eat them with any dip you want.

Apples:

Seeing the nutrients and benefits of apples there is no doubt now that an apple a day keeps a doctor away. Apples are a powerhouse of energy, there is goodness in every bite one should eat them without peeling.

It contains anti-inflammatory compounds rich in fiber it is also low in calories and good for your overall health because of its low amounts of phosphorus, sodium, and potassium a great source for healthy kidneys.

Eat them raw, and make stews or salads but you should add them to your daily diet.

Strawberries:

Strawberries are a super food they are a great source of Vitamin C, Folate, magnesium, fiber, and antioxidants. It can be found all year in grocery stores and seasonally in local markets and at many local farms.

Eat them with dark chocolate dip, salads, with cereals, make smoothies with them and make puddings.

Cherries:

Cherries contain phytochemical compounds and are a good source of antioxidants and Vitamin C. cherries may reduce the inflammation in your body and also protect the heart from diseases.

Cherries may reduce the symptoms of gout which can be a major concern for people with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Eat them as a healthy snack or make juice with them as you like it.

Egg Whites:

Egg whites have high-quality protein with the required amino acids. It provides protein with a low amount of phosphorus in meat and egg meat and egg yolks have more phosphorus than egg whites. Egg whites are low in fat, and free of cholesterol. They are also a good choice for people going through dialysis as they are recommended to have proteins but with less phosphorus intake.

 

Fish:

Fish is packed with heart-healthy Omega-3 fatty acids that reduce the risk of heart disease. It lowers LDL (bad cholesterol) and increases HDL (good cholesterol). The American Heart Association suggests eating fish twice a week. It lessens the risk of albuminuria and reduces the risk of kidney damage for people with diabetes. You can eat it by roasting it, and you can make curry and enjoy the fish the way you love.

Olive Oil:

Many pieces of research and studies show that people who use olive oil instead of other cooking oils have lower risks of heart and various diseases. Olive oil is a good source of anti-inflammatory fatty acids.

Virgin and extra virgin olive oil are acute in antioxidants.

 

You can cook meals with olive oils and use them in salad dressings as well.
