What is happiness?

The psychology researcher Sonja Lyubomirsky elaborates, describing happiness as “the experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with the sense that one’s life is good meaningful, and worthwhile”.

Everyone experiences happiness in their defined way. Nothin is worth it if your are not happy.

Happiness is formed by genetics, life experience, social groups as well as individual choices. In life, we also experience happiness out of reach, and that’s fine because if we only feel happiness we would never know the actual value of happiness in life. Studies also found that happiness can affect many aspects of life and make it better. Happiness is so good for health, when you are happy your mind and soul are relaxed and you are less likely to get sick. The happier the person is it easier is for that person to cope with stress or trauma. You’ll see around that generous people are happy people.

In today’s world people are mostly unhappy they are experiencing anxiety and depression. Feeling all time happy and feeling all time sad both aren’t good for your health there should be a balance between both emotions. If you are worried, depressed, sad, or fed up with everything still you have to be patient, here we are going to talk about some clues to happiness identified by researchers that could help you to be happy and can have positive impacts on your life.

  • Social Connections:

Social connections are important to feel happier in your life, just imagine how your life would be without the people (friends, family) around you. Invest in your relationships by spending quality time with the people you care about.

  • Appreciate good things in life:

Go on a walk and pay attention to positive things, events, and experiences in your life. Count your blessings you can write them or just remember them and always be thankful for them. Make a collection of positive and happy moments of your life for your future and instance,  visualize how your life would be without all the blessings and good things in your life.

Do nice things for people as reported, when you do nice things for people it lightens ups the brains, and in daily life, you will find that kind and generous people are happier that’s why to be nice and kind to people in any way possible for you whether it’s helping people financially or giving them moral support or appreciate good things in them. Surely you will feel lighter and happier.

  • Nature:

Hang around in nature for some time. People who are connected to nature tend to experience more positive emotions and life satisfaction.

  • Physical activity:

Regular physical activity will increase your happiness, and self-esteem, and can even lift the symptoms of depression.

  • Quality sleep:

Exercise or physical activity is not just good for our health but also for our happiness. So is sleep, researchers linked lower sleep to lower happiness it is necessary to have a night of quality sleep.


These happiness-boosting activities and ways don’t work equally for every human. So you have to understand yourself first and then choose accordingly that aligns with your personality, goals, and situation.
